Let us Give Thanks

Here at Cred we are very lucky.

We have a great team around us that help us change and shape the jewellery industry for the better on a daily basis. Each person we encounter, whether that be a miner in Peru and his daughter at school, a happy customer after their partner said YES!  or a member of the women's co-operative in Africa, everyone is working for the same shared goal : to secure transparency in the jewellery supply chain and ensure everyone is being treated fairly.

As a result, one can often come home after a long day and possibly feel a bit smug, as collectively we have all made a difference today. None of this would be possibly however without everyone involved, but we would like to say an extra special thank you to a few people for all their hard work and support this year. I wish I I could list every person who has walked through this door, but I think you may get bored, so here is our short list.

Firstly we would like to thank Josephine and Gonzago. Josephine is our Fairtrade gold miner who works out in Uganda. She came over to the UK earlier this year to represent her mine and bravely be the face of Faritrade Gold Africa. During the Fairtrade press day she was part of a panel accepting questions and talking about the impact Fairtrade can have. She was a real inspiration and fantastic example of what can be achieved.Gonzago if the head of Fairtrade Africa, his commitment and energy to change the operations of the mines and ensure the miners get a fair price for their gold is superb. Without him Fairtrade Africa would have been near impossible.

Secondly, we would like to thank Liz Earle. Her support for Fairtrade this year has been phenomenal, and truly appreciated. Liz has an amazing commitment to ethical practices and often talks about how she was green, when green was just a colour...we have even been thinking that green may even be her blood colour? Liz has been a real veteran to Fairtrade gold this year and we want to thank her for her support and passion to make the changes that need to be made in the industry.

Of course we would be making very little change however if it wasn't for out loyal supporters and customer base. You are as much a part of this story as Josephine, as without you we wouldn't be able to sell Fairtrade gold. So thank you for your continued support and helping us fight the war against gold.

Finally we would like to say a massive thank you to Sotrami, our first Fairtrade gold mine who started this movement and continue to work extremely hard to ensure you have fully traceable, ethical and fairly traded gold on your finger every year.

Thank You to you All!
